About the Speaker: Professor Mervyn King - BA. LLB (Cum Laude) H Dip Tax (Wits), Ph.D (h.c.) in Law (Wits)

Prof Mervyn King is a Senior Counsel and former Judge of the Supreme Court of South Africa. He is Professor Extraordinaire at the University of South Africa on Corporate Citizenship, has an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of the Witwatersrand, is Chairman of the King Committee on Corporate Governance in South Africa, President of the Advertising Standards Authority, First Vice President of the Institute of Directors Southern Africa, a member of the Securities Regulation Panel which oversees all mergers and acquisitions in South Africa, and Chairman of the Appeal Committee of Cricket South Africa.

GRI-CERTIFIED SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING MASTERCLASS USING THE GLOBAL REPORTING INITIATIVE (GRI)

Participants will receive an internationally recognised certificate from the GRI on successful completion of the course.

The prevalence of sustainability reporting is growing and much of it is converging around the use of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting process and guidelines. The King III Report recommends that organisations prepare sustainability reports and refers to the GRI Guidelines as providing excellent guidance.

This two-day course offers practical examples, presentations, interactive discussions and actual analysis of published reports to provide insight into the GRI's G3 sustainability reporting framework and its application.

About the Presenter: Reana Rossouw

Reana Rossouw is an alumnus of the University of Stellenbosch Business School. She has more than 20 years of experience in practical business management at senior executive level. She has achieved considerable success in business development and growth, bottom-line performance, as well as the development of leading brands. In 2008, Reana won the South African Council for Business Women - Business Women of the Year award in the Micro-Business Category. She was appointed a director of the Western Cape Investment and Trade Promotion Agency (WESGRO) in April 2006. Reana is the founding director of Next Generation Consultants. Reana is a regular speaker at national and international conferences and is regarded as one of South Africa's leading experts in social investment, socio-economic development, corporate responsibility, sustainability and sustainability reporting, and has published extensively in this area.
