This book by Simon Gear, a well-known South African weatherman, provides the everyday person with easy to use tips on how to "go green". From the sometimes funny to serious tips this is a book that you can read and choose to adopt an idea one at a time. From my personal favorite of "tease the Eskom people you meet at parties with talk of feedback tariffs and sustainable energy" to collecting grey water and eating fresh fruit, there is something for everyone in this book.
I really enjoyed reading this book and am trying to apply some of the tips in my daily life. (My husband, though, did not appreciate me saying that he should be using less deodorant 'because Simon said so' and because it's damaging to the environment.)
The book is divided into various sections covering the home and garden, family, work, travel, and food and drink. Simon suggests you choose five things in the book that you can and want to do.
In the end, it is about all of us choosing to make a difference and then doing it, because we can.
